Mirado is a therapy service for young people and families. We offer both face to face and video therapy and we have clinics in the North East of England.
Our highly qualified clinical psychologists specialise in working with young people and we are familiar with the pressures young people face today.
Some people choose to attend with a family member, for some or part of their appointments; others prefer to attend alone. Either option is ok.
You don’t have to be at rock bottom to attend therapy; sometimes people are able to identify problems at an early stage and attend short-term therapy to help understand what is going on, learn coping mechanisms and nip problems in the bud

Our adult service, Talk Works, established in 2014, offering psychological support to adults across the north east of England. Increasingly, we have been asked to offer help to younger people, and so, in 2019, set up Mirado in light of the following concerns:
• At any one time, 1 in 5 young people aged 16-24 experience a common mental health problem such as anxiety and depression
• The NHS is unfortunately over-stretched. 75% of parents report that their child’s mental health deteriorated whilst on a waiting list for CAMHS
• 1 in 10 young people will self-harm
“My daughter needed someone to speak to quite quickly in order to understand her emotions/feelings and anxieties. She was seen that same week and on a weekly/fortnightly basis. After just the first session, she was more relaxed, accepting (and with a better understanding) of her feelings. As a family, we have taken on board what she has gained from the sessions.”
